Guangzhou is south China's comprehensive hub port and the point where Pearl River Delta inland shipping meets ocean services.

Guangzhou Port Group expected 25.182 million TEU in 2024, up 5.3%, with the Nansha area alone passing 20 million TEU and entering the global top ten. Cargo throughput exceeded 670 million tonnes across both domestic and foreign trade.
基础设施与泊位
Nansha is the core deep-water container area, supported by Xinsha and Huangpu. Channels accept ultra-large container ships, and the port has dedicated ro-ro, petrochemical, grain and ore berths. Nansha is a combined rail, road and waterway intermodal hub.

Serves the western Pearl River Delta, the Greater Bay Area and inland south China through expressways, high-speed rail and the inland waterway network, functioning as the Bay Area's cargo consolidation centre.

Supports Pearl River Delta automotive (vehicle assembly and parts), electronics, appliances, textiles, machinery and health industries, with vehicle trade and advanced manufacturing clustered at Nansha.
Nansha is the principal vehicle export gateway in south China and Guangzhou is a used car export pilot city, with dedicated RoRo berths. The short inland haul from the Pearl River Delta's dealer and auction network is the main reason it often beats Shenzhen for exporters despite Shenzhen's higher container ranking.
