Overview
Jiangmen is a river port handling foreign trade on the western side of the Greater Bay Area, centred on the Xinhui area within the Pearl River waterway network.
Export role and throughput
Foreign-trade container throughput reached 340,100 TEU in 2024, a sharp rise of 47.98% that made Jiangmen one of the fastest-growing ports on the western side of the bay area. Cargo is led by paper, stainless steel products, furniture and food.

Xinhui is the core operating area with both river and coastal berths plus container and break-bulk facilities, using the Xijiang, Tanjiang and Jiangmen waterways to reach Zhuhai Gaolan and Guangzhou Nansha for deep-sea loading.

A convenient first leg for western delta suppliers, but every deep-sea box transfers at Gaolan or Nansha, so quote transit from the transhipment port rather than Jiangmen.
