WPC Leveranciers In De Buurt Van Zhongshan Port
Key figures (2024)
Overview
Zhongshan is a river container feeder port on the western side of the Pearl River Delta and a logistics node for bay area manufacturing.
Export role and throughput
Focused on short-sea and river container traffic, the port handled roughly 50 million tonnes and an estimated 1 million TEU in 2024. Cargo reflects local specialities: home appliances, lighting, hardware and furniture, making Zhongshan an important feeder in the delta's western network.
Infrastructure and berths
The Zhongshan, Xiaolan and Shenwan areas lie along the river with mainly river container berths connecting to Zhuhai Gaolan and Guangzhou Nansha for onward shipment, plus break-bulk capacity and full customs facilities.
Location and inland connectivity
On the western side of the Pearl River Delta, threaded by branches of the Xijiang and Beijiang, the port links the bay area through inland waterways and the road network, serving Zhongshan and the surrounding western delta.
Surrounding industry clusters
Serves Zhongshan lighting (Guzhen), home appliances (TCL, Vatti and others), hardware, furniture and electronics clusters. Hosts a bonded logistics centre (type B) alongside Cuiheng new district industrial policy.
Feeder-only, best treated as a trucking alternative. WPC shipments load deep-sea at Nansha, Gaolan or Shenzhen.
